My (not so) Itty Bitty Blue Giraffe

Another Itty Bitty toy is complete! I am loving knitting Susan's designs. The patterns are so well written and easy to follow. There is minimal finishing, so you don't have to worry about wonky seams (or, if you are like me, spend ages getting them "just right" which may mean redoing them 2 or 3 or 5 or 6 times....) Instead, after you cast off the last stitch, you finish the last bit of stuffing, sew on the arms, legs, head, and any embellishments and voila!.... an almost perfect finshed projet!

So, here he is....My version of the giraffe from Itty Bitty Toys. Once again, I was in such a hurry to start, that I went stash diving for yarn. Not having traditional giraffe colors readily available, I chose to use some wonderfully soft Blue Sky Dyed Cotton in Sky and Periwinkle blues. I love this giraffe and how the colors compliment each other.... even if my husband did think it was a dinosaur....

Itty Bitty Bunny

I just finished knitting Bunny, my first project from Susan B. Anderson's new book, Itty Bitty Toys. I was so excited to get this book, and I am not disappointed! Bunny knit up very quickly and was fairly simple to put together. Since it is knit almost completely in the round, there was not much seaming, which is a great thing! I knit Bunny with some GGH Tara that I had in my stash, since my LYS was out of the Blue Sky Dyed Cotton in the colors I needed, and I couldn't wait to cast-on! Tara is perfect for toys since it is so soft and squishy. This is intended to be a baby gift, but it is going to be difficult to give away. I may just need to make another one just for me!
